Aerial Assess provides roof inspections and assessments across the Wellington region. We carry out a focused look at the visible and accessible areas of the roof and send you a written assessment letter with practical comments and options. Drone access is one of the tools we use where it gives a safer or more complete view, alongside ladder and ground-level inspection.

We work with first home buyers, owner-occupiers, vendors, property managers, body corporates, and commercial owners. Most of our work sits in three categories: roof condition documentation for insurance, pre-purchase roof inspections before someone signs, and one-off general assessments for owners who want a clear read on what's going on up there.

The roofing experience behind Aerial Assess comes from years in the industry: assessing thousands of roofs across Wellington, quality control on roofing repairs, coatings and maintenance, and extensive work with the membrane systems that cover most NZ flat roofs, dormers, decks, and commercial low-slope sections. We're upfront about what we are and aren't. Aerial Assess does not hold LBP status, is not a building inspection company, and does not carry out roof repair or maintenance contracting. Our job is to assess and document. If your assessment flags something worth doing, we can arrange pricing through a separate Wellington roofing business we work with, no obligation, no change to the assessment fee.

Being clear about scope.

Some services we're often asked about but don't provide:

• Full building inspections or building reports. We don't cover framing, foundations, services, weathertightness, interiors, or any of the other parts of a property. Our focus is the roof.
• Engineering reports. We are not engineers and do not provide engineering certification.
• Guaranteed leak diagnosis. No inspection method, drone or otherwise, can guarantee diagnosing the cause of a leak from a visual assessment. We tell you what we observed and what it might mean.
• Asbestos testing. We can flag visible signs of older bituminous roofing that may contain asbestos, but we are not testers. Send samples to a qualified asbestos lab.
• Roof repair or maintenance. We don't carry out the work. If your assessment flags something worth doing, we can arrange pricing through a roofing business we work with.
